The Herndon Braves (7-9) continued to pile up the runs on Thursday, scoring five runs in the last three innings, en route to an easy 14-1 win over the Southern Maryland Nationals (6-9) at Alan McCullock Field.

The Herndon Braves scored five runs in the seventh on an error, an RBI single by Weston Walker, , and a double by Kyle Toomey.

James Vasquez did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Herndon Braves, reaching base four times. He scored three runs and had two RBIs.

The Southern Maryland Nationals had no answer for Nick Rogowski, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Southern Maryland Nationals managed just two hits off of the the Herndon Braves' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked five and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Bill Root led the Southern Maryland Nationals' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He also drove in one runner. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Nickolay Uherek ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
