Great game from the Bethesda Big Train's Renfroe not enough in 6-4 loss to the Baltimore Redbirds

The Bethesda Big Train (5-9) failed to take advantage of Hunter Renfroe's effort at the plate on Sunday, losing 6-4 to the Baltimore Redbirds (9-6) at Shirley Povich Field.

Renfroe rocked the Baltimore Redbirds with two home runs. Renfroe went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Renfroe homered in the first and ninth innings.

The Baltimore Redbirds held off the Bethesda Big Train, as the Bethesda Big Train were unable to overcome a four-run eighth inning deficit.

The Bethesda Big Train scored on in the eighth inning and a two-run home run by Renfroe in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Bethesda Big Train couldn't get over the hump.

Sean Keselica put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Baltimore Redbirds. He doubled in the first inning, tripled in the third inning, and singled in the eighth inning.

The Bethesda Big Train couldn't get anything going so long as Corey Taylor was on the hill. The Bethesda Big Train managed just three hits off of the the Baltimore Redbirds' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Ethan Miller (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
