An excellent effort by Scott Baker carried the Southern Maryland Nationals (5-6) to a 2-0 win over the Alexandria Aces (7-5) on Wednesday at Regency Furniture Stadium.

Baker's 11 strikeouts were enough to push the Southern Maryland Nationals past the Alexandria Aces. The Southern Maryland Nationals' pitcher gave up just four hits over eight shutout innings.

Colin Milon couldn't get it done on the mound for the Alexandria Aces, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed one run.
