Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Sunday as the Alexandria Aces (7-5) outscored the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts (5-7) 10-8 in 10 innings.
The two teams combined for 29 hits in the game.
Adam Forrer helped the Alexandria Aces take the lead for good in the tenth inning. Keegan Dolan was hit by a pitch to start the tenth. He then went from second to third on an error. Finally, Forrer came to the plate with the score tied at seven in the tenth inning, and singled, plating Dolan.
Shelby Dixon recorded his second win of the year for the Alexandria Aces. He allowed four runs over one inning. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered five hits.
Samuel Beatty (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
