A walk-off single from Nick Octavi brought home the winning run for the Alexandria Aces (7-5) in a 6-5 victory over the Herndon Braves (4-7) at Frank Mann Field on Friday.

Octavi led the Alexandria Aces' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the ninth inning.

Alex Buccilli racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Alexandria Aces. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Steven Schuler improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alexandria Aces. Schuler struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

Chad Zurat (0-1) took the loss for the Herndon Braves. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed one run.
