Kevin Tatum went 2-4 and hit a home run, helping the Vienna River Dogs (7-4) to an 8-5 victory over the Herndon Braves (4-7) on Wednesday at Alan McCullock Field.

Jake Rowland had three extra-base hits for the Herndon Braves. He singled in the first innings, homered in the seventh inning, and doubled in the third and ninth innings.

Joe McGillicudy got the win, running his season record to 1-1. McGillicudy struck out three, walked two and gave up three hits.

Nick Rogowski couldn't get it done on the bump for the Herndon Braves, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

The Vienna River Dogs hammered the Herndon Braves pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for nine hits, seven RBIs and eight runs scored.
