Barton gives the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs late push to beat the Camden Riversharks, 5-4

Brian Barton brought home the go-ahead run to give the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (55-58) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs hung on to beat the Camden Riversharks (51-60) 5-4 on Sunday.

Jeremy Owens to start the seventh. He then went from second to third on a single by Mike Daniel. Finally, Barton came to the plate with the score tied at three in the seventh inning, and reached on an error, bringing home Owens.

Daniel led the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He singled in the fourth and seventh innings.

Jim Ed Warden improved to 6-7 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He allowed one run over two-thirds of an inning. Ed Warden struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits.

Mike McGuire ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his ninth loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
