Chris McCoy hopes every outing could go as well as Sunday, as McCoy pitched nine innings to carry the Long Island Ducks (52-53) to an 8-1 victory over the Lancaster Barnstormers (68-38) at Bethpage Ballpark.
The Long Island Ducks blew out the Lancaster Barnstormers thanks to eight hits, including zero extra base hits. A three-run home run by Matt Esquivel delivered the runs in the sixth. The Long Island Ducks had two hits in the inning.
Brandon Sing went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Long Island Ducks. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.
Emerson Frostad got a hit in each of his two at bats. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
J.D. Durbin ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his ninth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in eight innings, walked eight and struck out four.
