Aaron Bates drove in the go-ahead run to give the Sugar Land Skeeters (43-51) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Sugar Land Skeeters hung on to beat the Camden Riversharks (44-48) 5-3 on Sunday.

Bates was hot from the plate for the Sugar Land Skeeters. Bates went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Pressley had two extra-base hits for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the second and eighth innings.

Scott Kazmir handled the Camden Riversharks' lineup with ease, racking up seven strikeouts. Kazmir allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks over five innings.

Lloyd Turner put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Camden Riversharks. He tripled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth innings.

Garrett Parcell improved to 1-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Leo Rosales (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
