A superb effort by Jason Lane carried the Sugar Land Skeeters (39-49) to a 3-0 win over the Somerset Patriots (43-45) on Monday at Constellation Field, Sugar Land.

Lane kept the Somerset Patriots off the board during his seven innings of work. Lane struck out four and allowed one walk and two hits.

It was a good day at the plate for the Sugar Land Skeeters' Dominic Ramos. Ramos went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning.

Roy Merritt couldn't get it done on the mound for the Somerset Patriots, taking a loss. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
