Five first-inning runs helped the Somerset Patriots (37-38) to an 8-3 win over the Long Island Ducks (41-33) at Bethpage Ballpark on Tuesday.

Jake Fox racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Somerset Patriots. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Derell McCall recorded his third win of the year for the Somerset Patriots. He allowed three runs over six innings. McCall struck out five, walked two and gave up six hits.

Dan Meyer (2-6) took the loss for the Long Island Ducks. He allowed eight runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out none.
