The Sherrill outlast the GEN Red Wings in high-scoring affair, 18-11

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Wednesday as the Sherrill (13-19) outscored the GEN Red Wings (11-21) 18-11.

The two teams combined for 30 hits in the game.

Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Sherrill to easily put away the GEN Red Wings. A double by Byron Campbell, an RBI single by Ernest Ruch III, a groundout by Nick Flemister, a single by Hayden Hibberd, a passed ball, , a single by Brad Kaczka, and during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Sherrill.

Mike Weakley had two extra-base hits for the Sherrill.

Tom Dybas recorded his second win of the year for the Sherrill. He allowed four runs over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered five hits.

John Scott couldn't get it done on the hill for the GEN Red Wings, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked three and struck out two.

The Sherrill pounded the GEN Red Wings pitching, as eight hitters combined for 18 hits, 14 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
