Hayden Hibberd came off the bench and never even had to swing his bat as Hibberd reached on a single in the seven to lead the Sherrill (11-17) to a 4-3 win over the GEN Red Wings (10-16) on Monday at Noyes Park.
With the score tied at three in the seventh inning, Hibberd came to the plate and singled.
A walk-off single by Mike Mazzara gave the Sherrill the win.
Mazzara was hot from the plate for the Sherrill. Mazzara went 2-5 and drove in one. He singled in the eighth and tenth innings.
Derek Dubois recorded his first win of the year for the Sherrill. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered no hits.
Zach Augustine (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
