Chris Murphy hopes every outing could go as well as Sunday, as Murphy struck out six batters to carry the GEN Red Wings (16-22) to a 6-1 victory over the Adirondack (22-15) at Robert Smith Sports Complex .
The Adirondack had the lead early, but couldn't hold off the GEN Red Wings. The Adirondack were ahead until the sixth inning, but the GEN Red Wings would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a two-run home run by Grant Heyman.
Chris Ray went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the GEN Red Wings. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and ninth innings.
David Anderson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
