The Utica (8-7) took down the Adirondack (10-4) 12-5 on Sunday at Robert Smith Sports Complex after slamming the Adirondack with nine runs in the second inning.
Steven Chagolla racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Utica. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the second inning.
The Utica got the win thanks in large part to Miguel Navarro's dominant, nine-strikeout performance. Navarro allowed one earned run, two hits and four walks over five innings.
Kevin Hix racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Adirondack. He homered in the eighth inning.
Sean Badger was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in two innings, walked six and struck out none.
