Knight gives the Adirondack late push to beat the SYR Salt Cats, 7-6

Stewart Knight brought home the go-ahead run to give the Adirondack (10-4) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Adirondack hung on to beat the SYR Salt Cats (3-11) 7-6 on Tuesday.

After Gooch Greer, Knight came to the plate with two outs in the sixth and doubled, bringing home Greer and Dezmon Nunn.

Johann Knee racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Adirondack. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

The SYR Salt Cats couldn't get anything going as long as Austin Bartley was pitching. Bartley held the SYR Salt Cats hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out three.

Jake Cintolo paced the SYR Salt Cats at the plate. Cintolo went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and fifth innings and doubled in the sixth innings.

Steven Bloodworth improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Adirondack. Bloodworth struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Lou Liberatore (0-1) took the loss for the SYR Salt Cats. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
