The Utica top the Syracuse SC in back-and-forth affair, 6-5

The Utica (2-1) and the Syracuse SC (1-3) passed the lead back and forth five times on Monday at LeMoyne College Field, but in the end the Utica pulled out a 6-5 win in eight innings over the Syracuse SC.

The Utica pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. A sacrifice fly by Jesse Pintado scored Blaine Tanner and gave the Utica the lead for good.

The Utica's Matt Bahnick was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.

Dan Fiorito did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Syracuse SC, reaching base two times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the third inning.

Dylan Reid recorded his first win of the year for the Utica. He allowed two runs over two innings. Reid struck out none, walked two and gave up two hits.

Maso Cotton (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.
