A walk-off single from JD Tyler brought home the winning run for the SYR JR Chiefs (23-8) in a 4-3 victory over the GEN Red Wings (10-20) at Alliance Bank Stadium on Monday.
Despite the loss, the GEN Red Wings' Chris Murphy dominated the SYR JR Chiefs' batters, giving up three runs and striking out seven.
Tyler improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the SYR JR Chiefs. Tyler struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Zach Augustine ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
