The SYR JR Chiefs blew out the GEN Red Wings thanks to 16 hits, including zero extra base hits. The SYR JR Chiefs scored six runs in the sixth on a two-run single by Alexander Sanchez Jr., a three-run double by David Wolak, and an RBI double by Patrick McClure.
Frank Salerno racked up three RBIs on three hits for the SYR JR Chiefs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and sixth innings.
Dave Saluga racked up two RBIs on three hits for the GEN Red Wings. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the fourth and seventh innings.
Alex Basso got the win, running his season record to 5-0. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered nine hits.
Joe Bocchino ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed 11 runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked eight and struck out two.
The SYR JR Chiefs pounded the GEN Red Wings pitching, as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 15 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
