Brandon Martinez was cold coming off the bench, but Martinez warmed up quickly as Martinez stroked a key pinch-hit single in the five to lead the GEN Twins (14-15) to an 8-2 win over the Hornell (19-9) on Sunday at Maple City Park.
With the GEN Twins leading by one, Martinez came to the plate and singled.
Martinez racked up two RBIs on three hits for the GEN Twins.
The GEN Twins left no doubt in the outcome with four runs in the fifth.
Anthony Dovale struck out three, paving the way for a the GEN Twins win. Dovale allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks over five innings.
Jordan Quinn (0-1) took the loss for the Hornell. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
