A superb effort by Casey Benjamin hoisted the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (30-36) to a 12-9 win over the Long Island Ducks (39-26) on Wednesday at Bethpage Ballpark.
Benjamin blasted two home runs for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Benjamin went 3-5 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Benjamin homered in the first and fourth innings.

Dan Lyons racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Long Island Ducks. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth and ninth innings.
Dan Reichert recorded his sixth win for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs even though he allowed eight runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked five and surrendered nine hits.
Mike Loree ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out three.
