Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Somerset Patriots to easily put away the Sugar Land Skeeters. A two-run single by Joe Holden, a two-run error, an RBI single by Freddie Bynum, and a two-run home run by Jeff Nettles in the second inning fueled the Somerset Patriots' offense early.
Aaron Mathews put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Somerset Patriots. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the ninth inning.
Ryan Ketchner (0-1) took the loss for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked one and struck out three.
Holden, Nettles, Mathews and Bynum helped lead the Somerset Patriots. They combined for nine hits and eight RBIs.
