Early lead not enough for the Bridgeport Bluefish, drop 5-3 decision to the Long Island Ducks

The Bridgeport Bluefish (19-20) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-3 to the Long Island Ducks (23-16) on Wednesday.

A sacrifice fly by Ray Navarrete gave the Long Island Ducks the lead in the fourth inning.

Navarrete racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Long Island Ducks. He singled in the first, third, and sixth innings.

Bob Zimmermann racked up six strikeouts in the the Long Island Ducks win. Zimmermann allowed three earned runs, four hits and four walks over seven innings.

Brock Peterson racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Bridgeport Bluefish. He homered in the first inning.

Raymar Diaz was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
