Joe Gallub brought home the go-ahead run to give the Brockton Rox (22-20) the lead in the ninth inning, as the Brockton Rox hung on to beat the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (22-19) 3-2 on Sunday.

After Luis Gonzalez was hit by a pitch, Gallub came to the plate with the score tied at two in the ninth inning, and, bringing home Gonzalez.

Evan Brown baffled the Marthas Vineyard Sharks, striking out six batters. Brown allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk over six innings.

Ryan Brockett was effective even in defeat, mowing down seven the Brockton Rox batters and allowing one run.

John Sheehan recorded his fifth win of the year for the Brockton Rox. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Corey Laliberte was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
