Tyler Dierke kept the Pittsfield Suns (13-18) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Torrington Titans (16-14) beat the Pittsfield Suns, 8-1.

Dierke struck out one and allowed one walk and two hits.

Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Torrington Titans to easily put away the Pittsfield Suns. An RBI single by Jordan Serena and a sacrifice fly by Ryan Zielinski during the second inning fueled the Torrington Titans' offense early.

Aldo Ferrante had two extra-base hits for the Torrington Titans. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Michael RoBards (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked one and struck out two.

The Torrington Titans' Ferrante, Kyle Murphy and Kevin Lum combined for seven hits and three RBIs.
