Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Sunday as the Seacoast Mavericks (14-12) outscored the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (10-12) 13-8.
The two teams combined for 25 hits in the game.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the second, with five lead changes.
Kevin Stenhouse had two extra-base hits for the Seacoast Mavericks. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.
Ryan Walker put together a nice outing. Walker held the Marthas Vineyard Sharks hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Doug Willey recorded his second win of the year for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed two runs over two innings. Willey struck out two, walked none and gave up three hits.
Matthew Cook (0-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
