Michael RoBards kept the Seacoast Mavericks (11-10) off the board during his six innings of work and the Pittsfield Suns (11-12) beat the Seacoast Mavericks, 2-1.
RoBards allowed five hits, two walks and struck out nine.
Adam Krebs pushed the Pittsfield Suns ahead, in the eighth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. After Ryan Deitrich, Krebs came to the plate with two outs in the eighth and reached on an error, bringing home Deitrich.
Krebs improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Pittsfield Suns. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Matt Novak was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
