A walk-off solo home run from Logan Gillis brought home the winning run for the Nashua Silver Knights (3-3) in a 3-2 victory over the Torrington Titans at Holman Stadium on Thursday.
Gillis did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Nashua Silver Knights, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and homered in the ninth inning.
Nick Poore baffled the Torrington Titans (3-2), striking out seven batters. Poore allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk over six innings.
Conor Bierfeldt paced the Torrington Titans at the plate. Bierfeldt went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.
Alek Morency improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Nashua Silver Knights. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered one hit.
Travis Landry couldn't get it done on the mound for the Torrington Titans, taking a loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
