The Marthas Vineyard Sharks (3-4) and the Seacoast Mavericks (5-6) traded the lead four times on Thursday, but the Marthas Vineyard Sharks ended up on top with an 8-3 win over the Seacoast Mavericks.

Tad Gold had a hot bat for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. Gold went 4-5 and scored one run. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second, seventh, and eighth innings.

The Seacoast Mavericks had no answer for Corey Laliberte, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Seacoast Mavericks managed just one hit off of Laliberte, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

Zac Fernandes racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Seacoast Mavericks. He homered in the fifth inning.

Doug Willey ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
