An outstanding effort by Daniel Jones spurred the Regina Red Sox (31-9) to an 8-0 win over the Yorkton Cardinals (13-31) on Tuesday at Currie Field.

The Regina Red Sox's Jones kept the Yorkton Cardinals off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out nine.

The Regina Red Sox blew out the Yorkton Cardinals thanks to eight hits, including zero extra base hits. The Regina Red Sox scored three runs in the seventh on a solo home run by Bryer Mueller, an RBI triple by Hector Rivera, and a sacrifice fly by Mitch MacDonald.

Josh Young racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Regina Red Sox. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third and fifth innings.

Bryce Manning was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
