The Medicine Hat Mavericks (25-12) and the Edmonton Prospects (6-29) both had scoring chances on Wednesday, but it was the Medicine Hat Mavericks that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-3 win at Athletic Park.
Ben Schubert racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the seventh and eighth innings.
The Medicine Hat Mavericks relied on Donavon Feenstra to eat up innings en route to the win. Feenstra pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, seven hits and two walks while striking out five.
A bright spot for the Edmonton Prospects in the defeat was Brandon Compton, who allowed only three runs while striking out seven.
Compton was charged with his third loss of the year.
