Joseph Iorio had two extra base hits, helping the Weyburn Beavers (12-18) to a 10-7 victory over the Yorkton Cardinals (9-23) on Thursday at Tom Laing Park.
He singled in the fourth inning, homered in the fifth inning, and tripled in the eighth inning.The Yorkton Cardinals' Tyler Arthur was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He singled in the third, sixth, seventh, and ninth innings.
Taylor Wright improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Weyburn Beavers. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out four, walked four and surrendered seven hits.
Logan Hershenow was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out none.
Dustin Silva, Iorio and Ranny Lowe helped lead the Weyburn Beavers. They combined for six hits and four RBIs.
