Grant Silva brought home the go-ahead run to give the Medicine Hat Mavericks (30-14) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Medicine Hat Mavericks hung on to beat the Swift Current Indians (27-17) 5-4 on Tuesday.

With the score tied at four in the eighth inning, Silva came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Collin Hetzler.

Ben Smith got on base four times in the game for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

The Swift Current Indians couldn't get anything going as long as Ryan Castadio was pitching. The Swift Current Indians managed just one hit off of the the Medicine Hat Mavericks' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.

Austin Park recorded his third win of the year for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Garrett Anderson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
