The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets make the most of 5 hits in 5-3 victory over the Weyburn Beavers

Both the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets (7-6) and the Weyburn Beavers (5-11) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-3 win at Tom Laing Park.

The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets held off the Weyburn Beavers, as the Weyburn Beavers were unable to overcome a five-run fifth inning deficit.

The Weyburn Beavers scored on a two-run home run by DeMontez Jones in the sixth inning and a solo home run by Ranny Lowe in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the Weyburn Beavers couldn't get over the hump.

Jordan Chiero put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Luke Bivens's six strikeouts helped the Saskatoon Yellow Jackets to the victory. Bivens allowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk over six innings.

Robbie Rocamora couldn't get it done on the mound for the Weyburn Beavers, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

The Saskatoon Yellow Jackets were sparked by Cory Osborne and Chiero, who teamed up for three hits and four RBIs.
