An impressive effort by John Clark led the Melville Millionaires (9-7) to an 8-2 win over the Edmonton Prospects (3-10) on Wednesday at Pirie Field.
Clark rocked the Edmonton Prospects with two home runs. Clark went 3-5 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Clark homered in the sixth and seventh innings.
The Melville Millionaires stamped out any hope for the Edmonton Prospects with three runs in the seventh. A three-run home run by Clark delivered the runs in the seventh. The Melville Millionaires had four hits in the inning.
Clark helped the Melville Millionaires pull ahead for the duration in the sixth inning. With the score tied at one in the sixth inning, Clark came to the plate and homered.
Allen Rimer kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the Edmonton Prospects batters. Rimer allowed two earned runs, seven hits and two walks over six innings.
Aubrey Dezarn was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
