An impressive effort by Michael Corso lifted the Moose Jaw Miller Express (2-5) to a 13-4 win over the Weyburn Beavers (3-5) on Sunday at Ross Wells Park.
Corso rocked the Weyburn Beavers with two home runs. Corso went 5-5 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Corso homered in the third and fourth innings.
The biggest inning for the Moose Jaw Miller Express was the fourth. In the inning the Moose Jaw Miller Express scored eight runs.
The Moose Jaw Miller Express got the win thanks in large part to Marshall Dean's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Dean allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks over six innings.
Derek Wallace had a hot bat for the Weyburn Beavers. Wallace went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.
Stuart Springer couldn't get it done on the mound for the Weyburn Beavers, taking a loss. He allowed 12 runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out one.
