Saturday was a great day for John Ziznewski, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Laconia Muskrats (11-19) to a 13-4 victory over the Mystic Schooners (4-25) at Robbie Mills Park.
The Laconia Muskrats blew out the Mystic Schooners thanks to 12 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Laconia Muskrats scored six runs in the third on , a single by Will Leathers, , a solo home run by Danny Collins, and an error.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the third, with five lead changes.
The Laconia Muskrats took the lead in the third inning and held on for the victory. Scored Ziznewski and Leathers and gave the Laconia Muskrats the lead for good.
Tim Swatek looked sharp on the mound. The Mystic Schooners managed just one hit off of Swatek, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out six during his six innings of work.
Eric Stone was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out four.
The Laconia Muskrats' Ziznewski, Collins, Donny Duschinsky and Joe Torres combined for nine hits and nine RBIs.
