The New Bedford Bay Sox (2-3) had a tough outing on Wednesday, as the Sanford Mainers (2-3) dominated in an 11-3 win at Goodall Park.

The Sanford Mainers scored three runs in the eighth on an RBI double by Jose Torralba, a groundout by Paul Kronenfield, and an RBI double by Jordan Betts.

Betts racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Sanford Mainers.

The New Bedford Bay Sox had no answer for Rohn Pierce, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Pierce gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out six during his five innings of work.

Sean Riley racked up two RBIs on one hit for the New Bedford Bay Sox. He homered in the sixth inning.

Junior Mendez (0-1) took the loss for the New Bedford Bay Sox. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
