De La Rosa's single gives the West Virginia Miners walk-off win over the Butler Blue Sox, 3-2

A walk-off single from Alex De La Rosa brought home the winning run for the West Virginia Miners (33-17) in a 3-2 victory over the Butler Blue Sox (28-24) at Linda K. Epling Stadium on Sunday.

De La Rosa led the West Virginia Miners' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the third and ninth innings.

Bradley Strong paced the West Virginia Miners at the plate. Strong went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the ninth inning.

The Butler Blue Sox couldn't get anything going so long as Jacob Johansen was on the hill. The Butler Blue Sox managed just two hits off of the the West Virginia Miners' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Russell Luxton got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

David Kucenic (1-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
