Both the Slippery Rock Sliders (14-29) and the West Virginia Miners (26-15) put runners aboard on Wednesday, but it was the Slippery Rock Sliders that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-2 win at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

Alex Lang racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Slippery Rock Sliders. He tripled in the sixth inning.

Zack Walsh brought the heat against the West Virginia Miners during his outing. Walsh held the West Virginia Miners hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Jesse Mowen recorded his second win of the year for the Slippery Rock Sliders. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered eight hits.

Ismael Castro was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
