Error proves costly as the West Virginia Miners falls to the Butler Blue Sox, 8-7

Three first-inning runs helped the Butler Blue Sox (19-12) to an 8-7 win over the West Virginia Miners (21-10) at Linda K. Epling Stadium on Tuesday.

The Butler Blue Sox staved off the West Virginia Miners as the West Virginia Miners were unable to match the Butler Blue Sox down the stretch.

The West Virginia Miners scored on and a groundout by Bryant Noteboom in the sixth inning and an RBI double by Joesph Williams and an error in the eighth inning. Unfortunately, the West Virginia Miners weren't able to take the lead back.

Jason Radwan racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Butler Blue Sox. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Dave Yakopec recorded his third win of the year for the Butler Blue Sox. He allowed three runs over five innings. Yakopec struck out four, walked four and gave up seven hits.

Joe Candelmo was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
