The Terre Haute Rex (35-20) scored five runs in the eighth to cap a 15-5 win over the Springfield Sliders (22-33) on Wednesday.

Patrick Chandler did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Terre Haute Rex, reaching base four times. He singled in the second inning.

Matthew Tellor had a hot bat for the Springfield Sliders. Tellor went 3-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the fifth, seventh, and ninth innings.

Clay Manering got the win, running his season record to 4-5. He allowed one run over three innings. Manering struck out none, walked two and gave up three hits.

Zach Wendorf ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked five and struck out one.
