The Terre Haute Rex come from behind to beat the Springfield Sliders, 10-8

Down two runs in the eighth, the Terre Haute Rex (24-16) recovered thanks to Clay Manering's in the eighth, and pulled out a 10-8 win over the Springfield Sliders (16-25) on Monday at Bob Warn Field.

With the score tied at eight in the eighth inning,, plating Edmund Cheatham and Patrick Chandler.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 18 total runs and 18 hits during the game. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were eight pitchers used in the game.

Cheatham reached base four times in the game for the Terre Haute Rex. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first and second innings.

William Robinson baffled the Springfield Sliders, striking out seven batters. Robinson allowed three earned runs, three hits and two walks over six innings.

Manering recorded his second win of the year for the Terre Haute Rex. Manering struck out one, walked none and gave up two hits.

Nick Capra (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
