Friday was a great day for Dan Hurlimann, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Slippery Rock Sliders (15-30) to a 12-9 victory over the Lorain County Ironmen (12-33) at Jack Critchfield Park.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 21 total runs and 28 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using six pitchers in total.
The Slippery Rock Sliders got the win thanks in large part to Josh Tinnon's dominant, eight-strikeout performance. Tinnon allowed three earned runs on seven hits and no walks over seven innings.
Cody Koch racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Lorain County Ironmen. He homered in the fifth innings and singled in the first and eighth innings.
Tony Naso (1-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 11 runs in six innings, walked three and struck out three.
Jeff Revesz, Hurlimann and Derek Peake helped lead the Slippery Rock Sliders. They combined for six hits and eight RBIs.
