A six-run eighth inning sealed a 12-4 win for the Slippery Rock Sliders (4-6) over the Lorain County Ironmen (4-6) on Saturday at Jack Critchfield Park.

Dan Hurlimann had two extra-base hits for the Slippery Rock Sliders. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

The Slippery Rock Sliders relied on Jesse Mowen to eat up innings en route to the win. Mowen pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out three.

Sam Alvis reached base two times in the game for the Lorain County Ironmen. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the seventh inning.

Michael Burke ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed five runs.

The Slippery Rock Sliders' Pat Gelwicks, Hurlimann, Trent Wooldridge and Ryan Abernathy combined for 10 hits and eight RBIs.
