Tuesday was a great day for Kevin Zak, as he hit two home runs to carry the Chillicothe Paints (19-12) to a 16-1 victory over the Richmond RiverRats (15-16) at McBride Stadium.
Zak racked up seven RBIs on four hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He homered in the fourth and seventh innings and doubled in the third and ninth innings.
Six runs in the first three innings helped the Chillicothe Paints blow out the Richmond RiverRats. A solo home run by Giancarlo Brugnoni in the second inning fueled the Chillicothe Paints' offense early.
The Richmond RiverRats couldn't get anything going as long as Brandon Sega was pitching. Sega gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his four innings of work.
Chris Thomas got the win, running his season record to 4-0. He allowed one run over five innings. Thomas struck out four, walked four and gave up four hits.
Lance Sheets (1-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
