Nick Day was hit by a pitch to start the sixth. He then went from first to third on a double by Zac Zdanowicz. Finally, Allen came to the plate with the score tied at three in the sixth inning, and singled, bringing home Day and Zdanowicz.Allen racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Quincy Gems. He singled in the sixth inning.
The Quincy Gems relied on Bronson Smith to eat up innings en route to the win. Smith pitched nine innings and allowed two earned runs, nine hits and one walk while striking out two.
Pichi Torres ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked six, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
