Both the Terre Haute Rex (33-20) and the Quincy Gems (31-22) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Terre Haute Rex that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-2 win at Quincy Stadium.

The Terre Haute Rex would not relinquish the lead as the Quincy Gems were unable to weather a two-run seventh inning deficit.

The Quincy Gems scored one run in the seventh on an error. Despite their efforts, the Quincy Gems couldn't get over the hump.

Michael Schroeder racked up eight strikeouts in the the Terre Haute Rex win. Schroeder allowed no earned runs on seven hits and three walks over 6 2/3 innings.

Seth McWilliams (0-2) took the loss for the Quincy Gems. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out nine, and allowed three runs.
