The Quincy Gems need walk-off single to beat the Springfield Sliders, 13-12

A walk-off single from Aaron Priestes brought home the winning run for the Quincy Gems (28-20) in a 13-12 victory over the Springfield Sliders (20-28) at Quincy Stadium on Tuesday.

Priestes did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Quincy Gems, reaching base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the eighth and ninth innings.

Nick Moore hit two home runs for the Quincy Gems. Moore went 4-5 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Moore homered in the third and fifth innings.

Matthew Tellor rocked the Quincy Gems with two home runs. Tellor went 3-5 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Tellor homered in the first and third innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 25 total runs and 31 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using nine pitchers in total.

Jake Walsh improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Quincy Gems. He allowed two runs over one inning. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.

John White (1-3) took the loss for the Springfield Sliders. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The Quincy Gems hammered the Springfield Sliders pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
