Tyler Filliben was cold coming off the bench, but Filliben warmed up quickly as Filliben stroked a key pinch-hit single in the nine to lead the Hannibal Cavemen (22-20) to a 9-6 win over the Quincy Gems (24-18) on Tuesday at Quincy Stadium.
With the score tied at six, Filliben came to the plate and singled.

Ryan Light pushed the Hannibal Cavemen ahead, in the ninth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Filliben singled to start the ninth. He then went from first to third on a double by Ian Sikes. Finally, Light came to the plate with the score tied at six in the ninth inning, and doubled, scoring Filliben and Sikes.
Light racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Hannibal Cavemen. He doubled in the ninth inning.
Sikes put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Hannibal Cavemen. He singled in the fifth innings and doubled in the second and ninth innings.
AJ Martin brought the heat against the Quincy Gems during his outing. Martin held the Quincy Gems hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Jake Walsh ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
The Hannibal Cavemen's Light, Filliben, Derek Fletcher and Sikes combined for seven hits and five RBIs.
